Ok! Epiphany City over here. I worked for 1 company for 14.5 years and that is an example of how a standard is set within our mode of living. We are shown one way of doing something and at most times this becomes our standard. I learned quickly that adapting is key. Being able to jump ship to Colorado taught me that. Leaving what was holding me back, taught me that. That has been my routine since 2013. That is 13 years of the pendulum. 

If we live in a bubble as many people do, whatever that bubble is becomes their standard. If that bubble is disrespect, disrespect becomes their standard.

The Lord is telling me “Environment” today and piecing it together with what He showed me at Meijer when I lived in my last apartment in South Bend, Indiana. The message was always, SET The Standard. Make the world more beautiful. 

Today I am thankfully waking up with bigger eyes, grander eyes and more understanding of the world’s standard. I credit this to God’s Plan, Glory and Timing. Not mine. Not anyone else. 

As I continue to revisit certain pantries and community kitchens the Standard is now the focus.

1. What Standard have they set?
2. What Standard of respect do they think is acceptable?
3. What Standard of cleanliness do they think is acceptable?
4. What Standard of health do they think is acceptable?
5. It is a matter of opinion mixed with a matter of law.
6. Does the health department condone serving expired foods? Well, just like any other field of work that depends on who is in charge of running the show. Do they turn a blind eye and sweep guidelines under the rug?
7. Does the health department have friends in high places that run these food pantries?
8. Does the health department have friends in high places that run the community kitchens?
9. In South Bend, Indiana the word from those guests was that Notre Dame pulled their funding from the Center for Homeless because the people running the show started charging money for the homeless to eat there. Audacious behavior on every side, in my opinion. 
   A. People experiencing homelessness should never pay for food. Sponsors should make a stand instead of walking away, all in my humble opinion.
10. In the Center for Homeless of South Bend, Indiana and a Center for Homeless in Jeffersonville, Indiana bedbugs are normal. Again, this has become a Standard. What is deemed acceptable? Why aren’t there protocols for prevention? They have days that they spray for them, yes. I was painting the piano at the Center in South Bend and a bedbug joined me for a ride. This was known as bedbug Monday. 
11. Standards. I see why it would be important to have a thorough screening before letting anyone in. It’s like the passage of the dough in the Bible.
12. Another center that I just went to in Bloomington, Indiana has left many Standards out the door. All you have to do is look at the building to know. You don’t even have to go inside. Better yet, just glance in the window off of the main sidewalk and you immediately get the vibe of disorganization on all sides.
13. God says it is time for new standards. Be the change. Be wise. Wisdom is Christ.
